Tao Te Ching Chapter 10-5 Mirror of Dark Depth
Today's Tao
Can you clean the mirror of Dark Depth? (Ch.10)
Let's decode this.
It means, "Keep off your hologram".
Zen Master Dogen says:
Polish a tile and make a mirror.
Naoto Matsumoto says:
In the old days it must have been very difficult to explain holography without using the word.
Dogen borrowed the word Genzo 眼蔵 (gen 眼 [eye], zo 蔵 [storage]).
I personally think that this is a wonderful metaphor to describe what a hologram in the mind is.
Some Buddhists use another beautiful metaphor of the dewdrops reflecting the moonlight.
When you polish your hologram, you can remember that you are always one with Tao.
Mata ashita. See you tomorrow.
