Tao Te Ching Chapter 69-6 Lost treasures

Today's Tao

If you underestimate the enemy, you have almost lost my treasures. (Ch.69)

What are your treasures?

We have three treasures.

In Tao Te Ching, those three treasures are:

1. Send Love.

2. Don't waste any.

3. Try not to be the first.

(☞See 3 treasures  67-4)

On the other hand, for the Buddhists, their three treasures are:

1. Buddha.

2. Manifestation.

3. Company.

Let's decode them.

1. Buddha is another name of Love, Tao, or the Higher Being.

2. Holograms are Buddha's manifestation (=Dharma). Don't waste your hologram.

3. Your company, your enemy, and the rest are part of your hologram. Why do you have to prove that you are better than them?

[Note]
Buddhists in China used the expression "three treasures 三宝 [san po]" found in Tao Te Ching to translate the Sanskritic word "Tri-ratna". (Osamu Kanaya 金谷治, «Roshi 老子»)

Tao Te Ching Chapter 54-12 Bodhidharma from the West / See the country

Today's Tao

See the country through the country. (Ch.54)

See Tao through your own country.

"But I want to learn more about Tao and Zen. I cannot do it in my country. They don't even sell a proper kimono to wear for meditation. I've got to go to Japan or China!"

Is the grass always greener on the other side?

No, it isn't.

The grass is always the same green wherever you go.

Here, we have a famous koan:

"What is the meaning of Daruma / Bodhidharma coming over from the West?

如何是祖師西来意"

Dharma 法 signifies manifestation.

Tao or Zen manifests itself through your hologram.

In other words, Daruma came over to tell us:

"Everything you see is part of one hologram whether you are in the West or in the East".

☞We have three famous Kitaro. One is Kitaro Nishida. Another is Kitaro the musician. The other is Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro. If you are an intellectual living outside Japan, you may learn these names in this order. If you are a kid in Japan, the other way round. 西田幾多郎、喜多郎、ゲゲゲの鬼太郎。In Kanji / Chinese characters, it is easy to distinguish one from another.
