Wheel video / Tao Te Ching Chapter 11-2

Today's Tao

Thanks to this emptiness, the wheel is useful. [Ch.11]

All the chapter 11 videos have been shot except the first and second sentence because at the time when I wrote the articles I didn't have the slightest idea of what YouTube was and how it worked.

I am glad that I can reach a larger audience thanks to those videos.

It is like a vending machine of ancient wisdom. When we are thirsty, we need a nice can of fresh soda pop immediately.

Today's Tao

Thirty spokes share one hub. (Ch.11)

Japan stories

Having gone through the two decades long of sluggish economy, the Japanese seem to be transforming themselves into a post-consumer society.

One of the biggest discussions in the country is about the young men without any sexual drive.

They are called "herbivorous men".

They are not interested at all in carnal intercourse. They prefer two-dimensional fictive characters in Manga, which is printed on paper (grass?).

They are getting less and less interested in dating and purchases related to courting a girl.

In short, they spend drastically less money.

Certainly, they are good disciples of Taoism.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 11-7 Nothingness is working

Today's Tao

Thus, something can be useful because nothingness is working. (Ch.11)

"Nothingness" means Tao.

Tao is working behind all the material beings.

Nothingness is you. (True You are Tao.)

You project your body.

You project everything in your mind. (Even your mind itself.)

Nothingness is working because you are working.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 11-6 Room

Today's Tao

Thanks to this emptiness, the room is useful. (Ch.11)

The word "emptiness" in the oriental philosophies has been confusing many people for a long time.

"Emptiness" means the field of energy. It is Tao

"Room" means "your hologram".

Holograms exist thanks to Tao, the fundamental energy.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 11-5 Doors & windows

Today's Tao

You cut out doors and windows, and you make a room. (Ch.11)

Let's decode this.

Without an empty space, we cannot use a room.

Naoto Matsumoto adds:

Osamu Kanaya, the author of «Roshi» 老子 (Lao Tzu) alludes to yaodongs 窰洞 in north China. They are dogouts carved out of a hill.

Carving out doors and windows is thus explained.

But aren't we really carving out our reality?

Carefully carved holograms are our world.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 11-4 Cup

Today's Tao

Thanks to this emptiness, the cup is useful. (Ch.11)

Lao Tzu is not talking about moral.

He is talking about the mechanism of holography.

"Emptiness" means Tao, the fundamental energy.

"The cup" is a projected image.

Thanks to the holographic image created in your brains, you can feel the sensation of touching them.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 11-3 Clay

Today's Tao

You knead clay, and you make a cup. (Ch.11)

You may think everything is tangible.

But can you touch a cup without using your brain?

Your brain needs to project a holographic image of the cup in your mind before you feel the sensation of touching it.

Are you sure everything is tangible?

Emptiness

Today's Tao

Thanks to this emptiness, the wheel is useful. [Ch.11]

Colours are justly emptiness. Emptiness is justly colours.

This famous and enigmatic Buddhist saying is talking about holography.

So is Today's sentence.

Emptiness means Tao. "The wheel" and "colours" signifies holograms.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 11-2 Wheel

Today's Tao

Thanks to this emptiness, the wheel is useful. (Ch.11)

Is it just a coincidence? Or, is it an interpretation beyond what is really written?

In either case, it doesn't matter at all to me.

I find this sentence a fantastic metaphor of holography. (☞See the previous entry)

In this context, "emptiness" signifies Tao, and "the wheel" your hologram.

It is exactly like a Tibetan prayer wheel.

Thanks to Tao, your hologram is projected.

Thus, you can perceive the world.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 11-1 30 spokes

Today's Tao

Thirty spokes share one hub. (Ch.11)

Again, this is a metaphor of holography.

Imagine a movie theatre where they project images 360 degrees around you.

You are at its centre like the hub.

The spokes are a beautiful metaphor for the beams of light projected by the projector.

Please compare this to Chuang Tzu's metaphor of the frog in the well. (☞See Tao by Matsumoto Chapter 5b What's a hologram)

It is nice, too.
