Tao Te Ching Chapter 54-7 Country
Today's Tao
Learn it in the country, and its attainment is rich. (Ch.54)
Love your country no matter what its state is.
Don't criticise politicians.
Accept people in the media as they are.
If you get annoyed, you create unnecessary resistance and waste your energy.
"The country" is much smaller than the TV set next to you.
It is just a backdrop of your hologram.
It is not wise to cut the "rich" flow of Tao's energy by getting upset.
If you don't like what is going on in "the country", be like Nikko's three monkeys.
See nothing.
Say nothing.
Hear nothing.

Tao answers your question!
☞What is a country? To some, it is what you fight for. To others, it is what you wish might protect you. Whichever it is, these two books are about their countries. Although geographically they occupy the same place, the authors seem not to talk about the same one. «The Taiheiki» was written in the late 14th century and «Sun and Steel» by Yukio Mishima in the late 20th century.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 52-6 Opened holes
Today's Tao
If you open its holes and do its jobs, you will never be saved. (Ch.52)
Let's do as Nikko's three monkeys do.
See nothing.
Hear nothing.
Say nothing.
Not only something evil, but also something "right".
Don't listen to those righteous people.
Don't watch TV.
Don't pay attention to the outside world because it is just your inside world.
If you do so, you will never be saved, says Lao Tzu.
What is the salvation here?
It is to remember that true You are Tao which creates the hologram (=the world).
If you open your holes, it gets more difficult for you to remember it.

Tao answers your question!
☞"See no evil. Say no evil. Hear no evil." Sometimes, the names of the three famous monkeys in Nikko, Japan, are translated as this, but it is not precise, or rather it seems that they has been intentionally mistranslated this way to avoid criticism. A better translation of "Mizaru, Iwazaru, Kikazaru" is "See nothing. Say nothing. Hear nothing." Not just something evil, we are supposed to see, say, or hear nothing. No judgement, please.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 52-5 Closed holes
Today's Tao
If you stuff its holes and close its gate, you will never be tired. (Ch.52)
Close your eyes and cover the ears like the two of Nikko's three monkeys.
Don't pay attention to the outside world, and you will never be tired.
But there is a better way.
You just accept the world as it is and send Love to it.
Then, you will realize that it is transforming itself as you like.
You will see that true You are Tao and it will never be exhausted.
Fatigue is just a catalyst that ironically stimulates you to emit more fundamental energy Tao.

☞When you are in Tokyo and have one day free, visit Nikko. At the Toshogu shrine, you will be welcomed by three cute little monkeys; Mi-zaru (Don't see), Kika-zaru (Don't hear), and Iwa-zaru (Don't say). The word "zaru" is an auxiliary verb signifying "not" in old Japanese and puns with "saru (=monkey)". The three monkeys embody "See no evil, hear no evil, and say no evil". Please enlarge the photo to see its details. The colorful woodwork was created by a master craftsman in the Edo period.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 49-11 Close ears & eyes
Today's Tao
People all open their ears and eyes, but the sage closes all of them. (Ch.49)
The sage never watches the news on TV because he knows so-called objective information is truly misleading.
Now it is about time we followed the attitude of Nikko's three monkeys.
See nothing.
Say nothing.
Hear nothing.
Not just something evil.
Nothing at all because we don't judge.
Or, let's go a tiny step farther.
All what we see is a hologram and catalyst to stimulate us.
We watch and listen to all the financial disasters and environmental catastrophes, while knowing that they are a prayer wheel or Horin 法輪, the wheel of Tao's manifestation.
And we will thank all of them for taking place, while receiving their Love and sending your Love to them.

☞Nikko is a place you must not miss when you visit Japan. It is not too far from Tokyo, and, if you have a day-off, it is enough to pay a visit to Toshogu shrine and see the famous three monkeys of "Mizaru, Kikazaru, and Iwazaru" (See no evil, hear no evil, and say no evil, respectively in Japanese). You can also visit the beautiful Kegon-no-Taki Falls. Watch out! Wild monkeys might violently welcome you there. The real monkeys there have nothing to do with Lao Tzu's wisdom and are happy to rob you of the sweets in your bag.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 39-10 Earth unstable
Today's Tao
If earth were not stable, it might collapse. (Ch.39)
A: "Oh, my god, my god. Heaven will be torn apart. Earth will collapse. Do something for us, Master Bonbon!"
B: "This is God's punishment. You are bad, so God is punishing you."
C'mon, Master Bonbon. You must not say things like that.
No one is bad. No one will punish you.
The world is safe because it exists within you.
It is your hologram. It is the manifestation of Love.
How can it be unstable!
Let's look at Nikko's three wise monkeys every time we feel like complaining about the imperfection of the world.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 35-7 Inaudible Tao
Today's Tao
Even if you try to hear Tao, you can't hear it. (Ch.35)
You cannot hear Tao. It is not sound waves.
Some might want to think that Tao is a sort of field where the interactions of waves take place.
The idea is seductive, but I find it a trap.
If you mix Tao with the idea of an objective space, surely you will get confused sooner or later.
The famous three monkeys at Toshogu temple in Nikko, Japan, know a little better.
"See nothing. Say nothing. Hear nothing."
It is not only about something evil.
In Japanese, we say that the monkeys of wisdom see, say, or hear nothing at all.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 56-3 Block the openings
Today's Tao
Block the openings.
Close the gate. (Ch.56)
These sentences are also found in Chapter 52 / Enlightenment. (☞See Closed holes 52-5. They are translated as "If you stuff its holes and close its gate". 塞其穴。閉其門。)
"Hear no evil. See no evil. Say no evil", Lao Tzu may want to say so.
This reminds me of three monkeys in Nikko's Toshogu.
Is this a piece of wisdom or just a cowardly?
Lao Tzu obviously think acting and demonstrating are not the solution at all.
He says:
"Stuff your holes and shut your mouth.
Switch off the TV set and don't listen to provocative world news".
