Tao Te Ching Chapter 68-6 Aikido & Tariki / Other people's power

Today's Tao

This is called the use of other people's power. (Ch.68)

Use other people's power by lowering yourself without competing.

Two points.

1.

This is the idea of Aikido.

Don't compete.

Synchronize the energy.

Use the opponent's power.

2.

When you look at this from the Buddhists' point of view, this is Tariki / Other-power.

You are not in charge of your own salvation, but Amida Butsu / Amitābha Buddha will take care of it.

This Tariki / Other-power is a useful tool.

Thanks to the presence of Amida, who is the mighty force outside you, you can reduce your resistance.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 61-5 By stillness

Today's Tao

By stillness, she gets lower. (Ch.61)

Here I repeat Chuang Tzu's teachings.

"Don't move until you are forced to."

Please read and watch Tao by Matsumoto video blog / No hurry 17-6.

Lao Tzu says in Chapter 37:

"Don't desire and be still, and the world under the sky will stabilize itself".

(☞See Be still 37-5)

These are not asking you to fight to sit still.

No, not at all.

They are asking you to accept the hologram, or the world, in front of you as it is.

By stillness, by accepting all, the female gets passive.

Stillness means "going back to the root".

☞Judo means "Soft Tao". The expression "Yawara no michi / The way of being soft" has become outdated, and its original idea seems to have been abandoned in the modern competition of the sport. Thanks to some girl practitioners, we can see a few remaining lights of this spirit. Please look at the colors and expressions of this manga «Yawara! A Fashionable Judo Girl» on the left. It is ironical that it will tell you more about the softness of Judo than the Judo matches in the Olympic Games. ☞On the right, it is a book on «The Hand Arts of Danzan-Ryu Jujutsu».

Tao Te Ching Chapter 61-4 Female beats male

Today's Tao

The female always beats the male because of its stillness. (Ch.61)

This is Lao Tzu's useful message, which you can apply to life without any complicated interpretation.

The word "male" suggests direct action.

Inaction beats action.

If you are still, you are better.

Passiveness defeats activeness.

Use Dark Depth Female rather than acting directly on your hologram (=the world).

Use Reverse Thinking, swapping the cause and the result.

If you are confused, don't move.

If you are forced to do something, do it without feeling ashamed.

When Chuang Tzu asks you not to move until you are forced to, he is not prohibiting you from moving.

On the contrary, if you sit still against any force, it shows that you don't understand his teachings at all.

☞If you are interested in non-verbal communication, Japanese Haragei the belly art must be a fascinating subject to study. "Hara", which means one's belly in Japanese, is a key in many martial arts. Even in performing arts you cannot ignore this center of gravity in one's body. Besides, if you are a businessman negotiating with a Japanese, it is a must to overcome this art of communication without words. (☞See also Tao by Matsumoto / Haragei the belly art) Read this «Haragei» book with «With Respect to the Japanese: Going to work in Japan» if you are planning to settle in Japan. Tao Te Ching Chapter 57-10 Don't move

Today's Tao

"I like being still and the people correct themselves." (Ch.57)

A: "Master Bonbon, people are not 'correct' politically, morally, and financially."

B: "Stand up and do something. Correct all those evildoers!"

Master Bonbon, please stop saying things contrary to Lao Tzu's teachings.

Lao Tzu doesn't move, and people will transform themselves naturally.

Of course, yes, because the word "people" suggests your hologram.

You don't have to do anything, and your hologram (=the world) will find the best way.

"Don't move until you are forced to."

When your body doesn't move naturally, this maxim of Chuang Tzu will give you the courage not to react.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 55-13 Takuan / Mind & Ki

Today's Tao

Mind using energy Ki is called strength. (Ch.55)

"Strength" means force.

Forcing yourself is not natural at all.

Do you want to manipulate Ki the energy for your own benefit one way or another?

Please don't misunderstand that Lao Tzu encourages you to use Ki the energy.

He is saying here that you should not allow your mind to use Ki the energy.

Don't let your mind confuse you.

Japanese Zen Master Takuan said:

心こそ心まよはす心なれ

心に心、心ゆるすな

[kokoro koso kokoro mayowasu kokoronare

kokoro ni kokoro, kokoro yurusuna]

Mind! It's the mind that confuses the mind.

Mind! Don't let the mind take over the mind.

☞If you want to understand traditional "Male Love / Danshoku" in Japan, you should read this «The Great Mirror of Male Love» by Ihara Saikaku along with «Hagakure». The latter talks about Bushido, that is to say, Tao of Samurai, but what the author discusses in the book is not exactly what we associate with the word "warrior" all the time. If you ignore the boundary between the male and the female, the characters in «The Great Mirror of Male Love» behave more like Genji the aristocratic seeker of a heterosexual love in «The Tale of Genji».

Tao Te Ching Chapter 38-6 Politeness

Today's Tao

The highest politeness is doing it and, if the other does not respond to it, rolling up your sleeves and pulling him. (Ch.38)

A: "Thank you very much, sir"

B: "..."

A: "I said, 'Thank you, sir'."

B: "..."

A: "I politely said, 'Thank you, sir'. You've gotta say something."

B: "Uh, uh."

A: "Sir, I am being polite and you say just 'Uh, uh'. You have to learn to be polite, too, sir."

When one is polite against his will, his acts are not spontaneous at all.

The forced politeness is very far from Tao's natural way.

A baby doesn't know politeness.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 33-6 Ambition

Today's Tao

Forcing himself is ambitious. (Ch.33)

Please don't let your own ambition cruelly torment you.

It is like rain. Your ambition doesn't belong to you.

Neither do your body and mind.

Don't try to suppress your ambition because you will never be able to.

Don't force anyone to do anything, yourself included.

If you have ambitions, it is perfect.

If they are not fulfilled, it is perfect, too.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 30-10 Force nobody

Today's Tao

It's just a result. Don't force any. (Ch.30)

Stocks may go up and down.

Your beloved Yankees may win and lose.

The result is there to stimulate you to turn the prayer wheel called Life.

Don't buy and sell stocks to control the prices.

Don't buy and sell players to win the World Series.

Don't act on it directly. It is your hologram you create.

It is ridiculous to pay money for what you create.

Instead, use Dark Depth Female and do nothing.

It is free, ladies and gentlemen.

-Certainly «Genji Monogatari / The Tale of Genji» is a classic. Nevertheless, it is not a history yet. In a modern Japan with Play Station and Manga, you can see the incessant resurrection of the famous story by Murasaki Shikibu (Lady Murasaki, which means Lady Purple). The video game on the left has nothing to do with the aristocratic life of a seducer prince, though. When I was a child, I thought the same thing. I imagined that «The Tale of Genji» might be a story of samurais who lived in the time of the confrontation between Heike and Genji families. I ignorantly thought that it could be a Genji version of «Heike Monogatari / The Tale of Heike».

Tao Te Ching Chapter 30-5 Don't force

Today's Tao

Thereby, don't dare to force any. (Ch.30)

"Force."

This is a fascinating word.

We are always fascinated by the magic "force".

But, the best and most powerful force is to do nothing.

It is Dark Depth Female.

It is explained in Tao by Matsumoto / Dark Depth Female.

Don't act on any directly.

Don't "force".

Tao Te Ching Chapter 30-1 Force by soldiers

Today's Tao

Helping human leaders doesn't mean forcing the world under the sky by soldiers. (Ch.30)

"Human leaders" means "people".

"The world under the sky" means "your hologram".

"By soldiers" means "by force", therefore "to act directly".

So, the first sentence signifies:

"Helping people doesn't mean that you act on them directly in your hologram".

For the translation of the whole chapter, please see Tao by Matsumoto / Chapter 30.
