Tao Te Ching Chapter 81-6 Richer detachment
Today's Tao
Although he gives everything to others, he is richer. (Ch.81)
What is being rich?
The richest man is the one who can detach himself from all.
Don't be attached to wealth or prestige.
Don't be attached to an object or an idea.
Don't be attached to your life.
Don't be attached to individuality or your own self.
Mu ga 無我. Self doesn't exist. Or, nothingness is your true "self". (☞See Tao Te Ching / Chapter 7 / No Self)
Since the so-called "self" is part of a hologram, there is neither before-life nor after-life. (☞See Man's self 77-7 and After life / Task successfully accomplished 77-11 ☞As for "former life", see End of life 74-1)
An individual and independent soul does not exist. (☞See Out-Tao [Heresy] Seniya / Gedo Senni / Settled 80-9)
If you believe it does, you are too attached to the concept of individuality.
Don't think that your soul will go back to Tao after your life.
You have never left Tao in the first place.
You are always one with Tao. (☞See Tao by Matsumoto / One with Tao)
No life. No end of life. 不生不滅 [fusho fumetsu]. (☞See Live eternally 59-8)

Lao Tzu answers your question!
☞«Recommended Books 16» "The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence." The more difficult to pronounce the mantra is, the more sacred. One can laugh at exoticism, but is he able to show you the way? The way how you can overcome the fancy costumes? If the seemingly greener grass fascinates you, the only solution might be going over the fence into the other side and discovering that the grass has the same color. If a Japanese boy believes that Major League Baseball (or Premier League football) is definitely "greener" than the baseball (or football) his countrymen play, he's gotta go there and beat some hitting records (or play better than George Best). Until then, the kid will be trapped in a strange mixture of complacency and self-negation, saying to his fellow citizens: "You don't know what it really is. What we have is false. Look over there. They have got something authentic". Kafu Nagai needed to go to America to make enough money to see France. The money he had earned was barely enough to let the spoiled Japanese twenty-something hang around in France for just ten months. Did he find that the grass was the same green wherever one went? It seems that in his mind the grass still remained greener somewhere but he was not able to be there. To fill the gap between what he had and what he wished to have, he created his "strange" but adorable world in the life of a woman who practiced a libidinous profession illegally on the other side of the River Sumida.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 80-13 Life without intervention
Today's Tao
But they get old and end their life without coming and going between their countries. (Ch.80)
"Without coming and going" is a key (=Kanreisu) to understand how holograms work.
It suggests "no intervention", "no interference".
Why is Lao Tzu against the interference to a hologram?
A dewdrop reflecting the moonlight. (☞See Dogs and Roosters 80-12)
This is a beautiful metaphor of the Tao/hologram mechanism, Shin 心.
The moonlight is Tao, which is true You.
The whole world is a dewdrop reflecting the moonlight, which is a hologram.
Without the modern concept of a hologram, Zen Buddhists needed to invent the expression "Eye storage / 眼蔵 [genzo]".
In terms of our interpretation of space, there is only one hologram, which includes all the beings, objects and intangible information such as thoughts alike.
In terms of our interpretation of time, there are a myriad of holograms, which are being created simultaneously.
"Life" is a name given to one group of them. (☞See Out-Tao (Heresy) Seniya / Gedo Senni / Settled 80-9)
"Life without coming and going" implies that there is no causation between holograms or dewdrops.
No causation, therefore no intervention. It is no use.
The unique causation is 複 [fuku] / return, which is to keep Tao's energy cycling and recycling.
A hologram stimulates Tao.
Tao gives birth to a hologram.
In conclusion, there is only the receiving and giving of Love, which is also called Tao.
This receiving and giving of Tao's energy takes place on your face. (☞See Face Transmission / Menju / Beauty 80-8)
That's why we don't have our face in the hologram.
Have you ever seen your face directly?

Tao Te Ching Chapter 80-9 Out-Tao (Heresy) Seniya / Gedo Senni / Settled
Today's Tao
Make them settle in their dwellings. (Ch.80)
No life. No end of life.
不生 不滅 [fusho fumetsu].
In Zen Buddhism, they say so.
Then, what happens after you die?
Nothing happens since there is no life in the first place.
There is no after-life.
Since Tao doesn't have time, there is neither before nor after.
"Life" is a name given to a sequence of holograms, which are being created simultaneously.
In his «Shobogenzo», Zen Master Dogen repeatedly denies the concept of Out-Tao, or non-Buddhist, Gedo Senni 外道先尼.
Some call him Heresy Seniya.
Out-Tao Seniya thinks that, after one dies, his soul goes back to "the sea of nature".
(Sokushinzebutsu 即心是仏, «Shobogenzo»)
Please let me make sure that we do not go anywhere after our life.
It's impossible since there is no "self" in the first place.
"Self" is a name given to an interpretation of some parts of a hologram.
Watch out!
Please do NOT think that you go back to Tao after your life.
You are permanently settled in Tao.
[Note]
You are Tao itself. Therefore, you don't have to go beck to Tao. Or rather, you cannot go back because you are already one with Tao. The word "return / go back 復 [fuku]" in Tao Te Ching suggests recycling Tao's energy. Remembering that true You are Tao is one way to do it.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 78-10 Contradiction
Today's Tao
Right words sound contradictory. (Ch.78)
Tao's mechanism of return creates contradiction.
Lao Tzu says here that, if the words do not sound contradictory, they are not right.
They are artificial and superficial.
Let's review Lao Tzu's maxims in this chapter, which sound contradictory.
1. Be as soft and weak as water in order to activate Dark Depth Female. (☞See Water summary 78-1)
2. When you are lost in Mayoi, you are as hard as ice; when you are one with Tao, you are as soft as water. (☞See Water's attack 78-2)
3. A hologram doesn't change. One hologram is the whole world in each moment.
Caution! Each independent being is not one independent hologram. It is part of one hologram along with the other beings, including your own self. It is like a frame in a movie. (☞See No change 78-3)
4. Everyone in the world is you. (☞See Everyone = You 78-6)
5. No matter what we are doing, we are doing nothing, which means "sending Love (=Tao's energy)". (☞See No one acts 78-7)
6. No state. No evil. Don't criticize. Don't judge. (☞See State filth 78-8)
7. No superstitions. No bad omens. They are just catalysts.
8. Lao Tzu thinks it is ridiculous to resist. No resistance.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 77-1 Bend a bow
Today's Tao
Heaven's Tao is like bending a bow! (Ch.77)
"I'm in Heaven... I'm in Heaven..."
Some call it a silly love song.
Others see a profound truth in the silly love song.
The point is: you are always in Heaven.
You don't go to Heaven because you are already there.
Your Heaven is "right here right now".
One thing has to be clearly understood.
Please do NOT think that you will go back to Tao after you finish your life or hologram.
This is wrong.
You are always "inside" Tao while projecting your holographic life because true You are Tao itself.
You never leave Tao.
You just project doubt.
Why do you do it?
You have to bend the bow when you put a string on it.
This is the key to answer the question, Lao Tzu says.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 69-3 Retreat
Today's Tao
Our side dare not advance one inch, but retreat one foot. (Ch.69)
Don't try to advance.
Never mind retreating.
In Taoism, advance is retreat, and retreat is advance. (☞See Advance = Retreat 40-7)
If you want to go forward, go backward.
If you want to get something, give something.
This is the way a hologram functions.
There are two raisons d'être of a hologram:
1. To give us an opportunity to receive Love (=Tao) through the hologram.
2. To stimulate us to emit Love (=Tao).
This bilateral exchange of the fundamental energy Tao may explain why a hologram "seems" to work that way.
But remember?
There is no space in Tao.
There is neither distance nor direction.
How can you advance or retreat there?

Tao Te Ching Chapter 68-5 No competition
Today's Tao
This is called attainment by no competition. (Ch.68)
Why does Lao Tzu ask you not to compete or fight?
Because competition and fight are forms of resistance.
They are refusal of acceptance.
First, you accept the world, which is your hologram.
Second, you are one with Tao, that is to say, you remember that true You are Tao and your own self is just part of the hologram.
Third, remembering You = Tao is the attainment of Tao. This is also called Dark Depth Attainment 玄徳 [gen toku].
Fourth, while accepting your hologram, you emit the fundamental energy Tao, which is True You or which you can call Love.
Fifth, Tao, or Love, is out there. Now you go back to the first step and accept it through the hologram.
We keep this cycle.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 65-9 Perfect integration
Today's Tao
After that, you will reach Tao's perfect integration. (Ch.65)
Let's review Tao's perfect integration, or Big Natural Flow 大順 [tai jun], step by step.
1. You abandon analysis and intelligence.
2. You accept all, that is, all of your hologram while emitting the fundamental energy Tao (=Love).
3. The hologram finishes its role as a catalyst.
4. The hologram, including your own self and other beings, "return" to Tao and gets "re-integrated".
5. Your own self doesn't exist any more. (You remember that your own self does not exist as an independent entity from the beginning.)
This is "your" perfect integration with Tao.
In other words, you have attained Dark Depth.
It is Dark Depth Attainment 玄徳 [gen toku].
Attention!
The moment a phase finishes, another one begins.
There is no end.
Besides, time doesn't exist in Tao.
The multiple phases take place simultaneously.
Then, what can you do really?
Don't worry.
That's why they say: "Do nothing".
Just remember that you are totally integrated with Tao all the time.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 65-8 Return to Tao
Today's Tao
You return to Tao with things. (Ch.65)
There are two key functions here.
1. "Return".
The word indicates the energy cycle.
This cycle is Tao, therefore, true You.
Everything returns to Tao.
This is Big Natural Flow, that is to say, Tao's perfect integration 大順 [taijun]. (☞See Chuang Tzu's teachings 42-8)
2. "With things".
The word "things" suggests a hologram.
The key is the preposition "with".
This implies a hologram's function as a catalyst.
Your mind and body are part of your hologram along with mountains, rivers, flowers, and stars, in short, with all other elements of what you see (and you cannot see).
All of them return to the neutral state of Tao (=the state before your hologram is projected, =Bumo misho izen).
What we call "one life" is the emission and return of a hologram.
But, remember there is no time in Tao.
The moment something begins, it ends.
The moment something ends, it begins.
No life, no end of life.
不生不滅 [fusho fumetsu].

Tao Te Ching Chapter 64-19 Excess
Today's Tao
He brings back people's excess to the state it was before. (Ch.64)
The kanji / Chinese character 過 [ka] signifies both "excess" and "past".
"Past" in the sense of "has been".
The thing that has been is the hologram that you have just received.
In Taoism, it is important to return this "has been" hologram to the state before it was projected.
How can we bring it back?
It's easy.
In the episode of 22-14 Return it!, simple Reverse Thinking is explained.
Read this entry with 22-4 Before parents' birth.
It will help you to better understand Reverse Thinking.
If you want to know about Tao's mechanism in terms of "return", the episode of 60-6 Returns to each other will be helpful.
Now you don't have to worry about your destiny.
You know how to bring it back.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 61-7 Under big
Today's Tao
A small country takes a big country by going under the big country. (Ch.61)
Yesterday's sentence was:
"A big country takes a small country by going under the small country."
In Today's sentence Lao Tzu simply swaps the words "big" and "small".
The important thing is this interchangeability.
It doesn't matter if it's big or small.
They are just showing two points.
One goes under the other, and vice versa.
This is what the Yin Yang circle is symbolizing.
This intercourse is Tao.
It is Love.
Returning to Tao is sending Tao's energy to Tao.
Send it to Tao by going under Tao.
What does "going under Tao" mean?
It means "receiving Tao's energy through your hologram without resistance".
By assimilating it, another hologram can appear.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 60-6 Returns to each other
Today's Tao
Hence, the attainment returns to each other. (Ch.60)
There are two key concepts of Taoism here.
One is "each other" and the other is "return".
"Each other" suggests the two elements: Tao and a hologram, or the creator and the created, which can be regarded as "the stimulated and the stimulating".
"Return" is the principle of the Tao / hologram cycle.
Tao creates a hologram (=the world).
The hologram stimulates Tao.
The hologram returns to Tao.
Tao creates another hologram.
Please remember.
True You are Tao.
Therefore, you project one world.
The world stimulates you.
You accept the world with love (=Tao).
You project another world with more love.

Tao answers your question!
☞Exploring Japanese literature is never easy. The cultural gap used to be insurmountable between where you are and where geisha and samurai lived. Besides, there is a question of translation unless you are fluent in Japanese. How can you translate a Kotodama (=the spirit of a word) based on and developed from onomatopoeia into an abstract concept! In this sense, Yukio Mishima's works are a good and accessible entrance gate to Japanese literature since the author is supposed to have detested the dependence on onomatopoetic expressions.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 59-2 Return early
Today's Tao
Just don't waste any, and you will return early. (Ch.59)
Don't waste any; foods, materials, electricity, natural resources or even feelings and thoughts.
Don't waste life.
Your life is a beautiful hologram waiting for you to accept.
When you accept it, you receive Tao's energy through it.
When you appreciate it, you emit the energy to it.
That's how you return to Tao.
Returning to Tao is not denying your holographic reality in front of you;
on the contrary, you accept and love it.
Then, you will "return" to Tao easily.
You will simply remember that true You are Tao and you have never left it at all.

Tao answers your question!
☞Lao Tzu asks you to be like dust. Dust has a certain connotation, which is not necessary bad if you don't have a big ego. Kobo Abe wrote «The woman in the Dunes». The story can be interpreted as a metaphor in this context. ☞Zen Buddhists say: "Buddha is a dry [excrement] stick". The expression has appalled many other Buddhists. Zen Buddhists just want to say: "All the holograms are Buddha's manifestation, which include even a dry [excrement] stick". They are always happy to use a "radical and cool" expression.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 58-7 Odd criterion
Today's Tao
A criterion returns to be odd. (Ch.58)
Why do we suffer from something?
Because we have criteria concerning health, beauty, social status, or whatever.
Having criteria and judging oneself is a form of resistance.
"But I am not perfect!"
Is that what you want to say?
Well, certainly a criterion blocks the natural flow of Tao.
It bothers Tao's cycle to turn around.
Then the criterion/resistance creates oddities in your hologram.
That's why you suffer.
But don't worry.
Remember?
Everything, including all the oddities, "returns" to Tao, the ultimate security.
Your suffering is just a catalyst.
